Cons:

This is a very fun car to drive and the mid engine layout makes the car very agile. This also helps acceleration. The car almost always turns head and there are a few of them on the street. The fuel economy is great and this is an very affordable sports car. This car also beats the Mazda Miata, its rival roadster.

this car has to be the most fun one can have for under $30,000. its fast, its agile, it just feels great. you ride so low on the ground that you feel as a part of the vehicle. the looks you get are amazing. someone comments on the car every day, and the design is in its 3rd model year now! toyota outdid themselves on this car. great job guys!

What a fun car to drive. Hugs the road like nothing Ive ever driven before. Fast little sucker with a great 5 speed sport shift. Took only a few times to get used to the shifting and once you do, youll never go back to manual. Stereo /CD/Tape player is more than adequate with the to down. Build quality and Paint finish are superb!

  • a blast, but watch the rain - 2002 Toyota MR2 Spyder

I had longed to have the new MR-2 Sypder ever since I spied my first one. It is a blast to drive, and very economical. I have yet to get less than 30 mpg, and have gotten as high as 35 mpg. However, it rains a lot in my area and the tire hold is marginal in the wet. It needs 225s in the back.

A great little convertible , that is fun to drive and responds well. Unique styling and limited availability which means you dont see many on the road. Great gas mileage averaging 32 MPG. Only drawback: very limited storage space.

Driving this car while naked is the only way to improve the experience. Bought used from meticulous owner (96k miles). Drove back from TN to waves, smiles and honks with the top down of course; got about 33 mpg @ 75-80 mph. Came back with a framed picture, a lamp w/shade, a wheeled suitcase, beach bag and a pink flamingo. Who said theres no storage? (Just delete any passenger.) Theres storage behind the seats and you can sneak a few small items in the spare tire well. This car sits lower than a Mini Cooper. A Honda Fit looks like an SUV when you pull alongside. Keep lights on when driving to improve visibility by others. Buy one and look for the winding roads! YEE HA!

  • Great, inexpensive fun - 2002 Toyota MR2 Spyder

It gets attention. You notice people looking at you. Mine has the auto clutch and I just love it. Its quite quick enough also, with strick steering on a dime with great control. I could never get my wife on a Harley so when we looked at this car & it had the auto-clutch and we test drove it, we were hooked. So far absolutely no troubles. Its a great toy for us to just go. If your wanting to haul stuff, buy a pickup. theres very little storage, maybe a couple of duffle bags is all youre going to get in it.

I purchased a 2000 Silver MR2 Spyder and Ive had so much fun driving the car. Its quick and responsive, cute and attractive. The gas mileage is excellent. Although the car literally has no storage space, it is nevertheless a fun weekend getaway rider.

This sporty little roadster packs a boatload of fun into a small, inexpensive package. Youll get a lot of looks, too. The car sprints from a stop to 60mph in 6.6 seconds (or faster, once you get good), handles like a true racecar, stops quicker than any car less than $50,000, and has the reliability and ease of maintenance of a Toyota.
